She was born in Mountain View, MO, the daughter of the late Ralph H. and Willie Alice, nee Buff, Craig. Pauline was a member of the Ladies League at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Columbia, IL. She was married to the late Ardell W. Niehaus. They were married on October 30, 1943, in Perryville, MO. He had passed away in 1987.
