Harold T. Reichert's Obituary
Harold T. Reichert, 85 years, of Columbia, IL, passed away on April 18, 2018 at St. Clare Health Care Center, Fenton, MO. He was born September 16, 1932, in Columbia, IL, son of the late Wilbert and Pauline, nee Weilbacher, Reichert. He was married to Betty J., nee Boedeker, Reichert, who survives him.
Harold had worked as a finish carpenter with Schueler Construction and later with St. Louis Ship doing finish work in the pilot house. He was an accomplished ball player and had been drafted by the St. Louis Browns. He had served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant First Class, and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Harold loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and wanted nothing to do with the concrete jungle of the city. He was a man of deep faith and trust in the Lord, and had been a member of Hope Christian Church, Columbia, IL.
Also surviving are his daughter, Rhonda (Howard) Ketzner; grandchild, John Harold Ketzner; two brothers, Kenneth (Helen) Reichert, and Earl (Carol) Reichert; along with cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 22, 2018, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, April 23, at Lawlor Funeral Home, with Pastor Darrell Jones, officiating. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
