SMSGT Gregory "Greg" Allen O'Dell, USAF (Ret.)'s Obituary
SMSGT Gregory "Greg" Allen O’Dell, US Air Force (Ret.), passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. He was born on June 3, 1967 in Kokomo, IN.
In February 1989, Greg enlisted in the United States Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, he earned many awards and accolades, including:

After serving 26 years in the Air Force, Greg honorably retired as Senior Master Sergeant in February 2015, and continued to serve his country as a civilian working as a Transportation Specialist with the US Government.
Greg was an avid sports fan and a long time Kansas City Chiefs fanatic. He enjoyed traveling and exploring his adventurous side. He had a love of music and enjoyed attending concerts and thrifting for vinyl's.
Greg was a devoted husband to his wife Mali O’Dell for 32 years. He loved his family like no other, and he loved his friends with that same unwavering devotion. He would do anything for the people in his life, and truly never met a stranger- everyone was welcomed with kindness, and genuine care.
Words cannot fully express what a tremendous human being he was. He was compassionate, giving, and selfless in ways that left a lasting mark on all who knew him. There will never be another like him, and he will be missed more deeply than words can convey.
Surviving are his Wife, Mali O'Dell; Son, Chris (Jessica) Bond; Grandchildren, Zoey and Khila Bond; Mother, Carolyn Jameson; Sister, Kim Morgan; Nephew Hunter Morgan; Sister, Jennifer (Chad) Foster; Nieces Allyson (Brennan) Storie and Aubri Foster; Step-Sister, Jamie Jameson-Caraveo; along with many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Jim Jameson and Brother-in-Law, John Morgan.
Memorial visitation will be held February 1, 2026, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Scott Event Center, 47 Ward Dr, Scott AFB IL, 62225. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm and will conclude with full military honors.
