Gloria Joyce Boehm's Obituary
Gloria Joyce Boehm, nee Mueller 84 of Millstadt, Ill., born April 9, 1931 in Millstadt, Ill., passed Friday, April 17, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
Gloria was a member of Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Ill. She retired as a seamstress from Bridal Originals in Belleville, Ill.
Gloria was very talented and creative. She was an amazing seamstress and could always be counted on to sew or alter anything and everything for her family and friends. Many a family Halloween costume was fashioned and sewn by Gloria. She loved to paint and share her talent with others. Painted rocks was one of her specialties. She was always interested in learning new things and playing games. A couple of her favorites were Rummikub and Skp-Bo. In her later years, she took on the challenge of technology, becoming proficient in the use of her iPad. She literally couldn’t leave home without it and she had to be driven back home to get it on more than one occasion! Gloria loved to travel and was always up for any trip. Family vacations the past few years included Eureka Springs, Chicago, Wisconsin Dells, and Jupiter to see the Cardinals at spring training. When watching every Cardinals game, Gloria tuned into the game on TV while listening to Mike Shannon on the radio. This way, she always knew what was going to happen on the next play due to the time delay. Above all, Gloria loved spending time with her family and friends. She and her sister Jean spent many happy times together. She was loved by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew her.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Lorraine Boehm, her parents, Robert & Helen, nee Sensel, Mueller and a sister in infancy, Marjorie Mae.
Gloria is survived by her children, Patricia (Terry) Rehling of St. Peters, MO., Joyce (Brian) Smallwood of Ellis Grove, Ill., James Boehm of Ava, MO., Pam (Kris) Hutchins of Canal Winchester, OH., her grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Rehling, Jennifer (Brian) O’Connor, Bonnie (Chris) Newton, Jason (Renee) Holtgrewe, and Kyle, Allison, Brady and Brandon Hutchins, her sister, Delores Jean (Elmer) Roberts of Millstadt, Ill.
