Gilbert Taylor Cooper's Obituary
Gilbert Taylor Cooper, 74 years of Dupo, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. He was born July 8, 1949, in East St. Louis, IL.
Gilbert was a retired electrician. He was a member of the First Congregational Church n Dupo, IL., IBEW Local 309, and the Mid-State Illinois Bass Anglers Association.
Surviving are his wife, Sherie Cooper, nee Pritchet, his daughter, Dena Lynn (Philip) Kimbrel, His son Michael Joseph (Lisa) Cooper, Grandchildren, Philip Taylor Kimbrel, Matthew Alexander Kimbrel, Megan Renee Kimbrel, Connor Cooper and Caden Cooper, his sisters, Cheryl (John Paul) Camp and Peggy (George) McDaniel, his brother, Keith (Norma) Cooper, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Colleen, nee Steele, Cooper, his grandson, Ryan Scott Kimbrel and his brother, Philip Cooper.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. -? at the Sugarloaf Township Community Building, 240 S. 5th Street, Dupo, IL. 62239. Interment will be in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to First Congregational Church, 425 Louisa Ave., Dupo, IL, 62239 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
