Geraldine "Geri" M. Harris, 97 years of East Carondelet, IL, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Oak Hill Care Center, Waterloo, IL. She was born October 6, 1922, in Fort Smith, AR.
Geri had worked as the head cashier at Tri-City Grocery in Loisel Village. She was a member of Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, IL., and the ladies guild at church.
Surviving are her children, Pamela S. Kentch of East Carondelet, IL., William F. (Cynthia) Harris III of Waterloo, IL, and Sandra L. (Ricky) Sminchak of Waterloo, IL., her niece, Patricia A. Harris, her grandchildren, Brian A. Kentch, Erin M. Kentch, Sarah L. Misak, Stephanie M. (Jake) Weber, Jessica A. (David) Pashia and Ryan N. Harris, 3 great-grandchildren, Emily L. Misak, Will N. Pashia and Wyatt I. Pashia, her sister-in-law, Virginia Beckerdite, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, William F. Harris Jr., her father, Clyde O. Beckerdite, her step-mother, Lillie Beckerdite, her mother, Nellie A. Beckerdite, her brother, Robert Beckerdite and her grandson, Luke A. Stanger.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 4-7 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL.Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, IL. with Pastor Todd Mushaney, officiating. Masks are required, guest are asked to follow current social distancing guidelines. Per the governors current capacity restrictions, funeral home staff will monitor and aIlow up to 25 people in the funeral home and church at one time. Interment will follow in the Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.
