Jerry loved spending time with his family. He and his wife Joan traveled extensively, regularly attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He was very active in the Red Bud community, he belonged to two bowling leagues, enjoyed playing cards with his many friends, being outdoors especially working in his vegetable garden. Jerry dedicated 30 years of service to the Red Bud Volunteer Fire Dept, but will most fondly be remembered for going to the bar at 3:00 p.m. for a cold beverage getting all the gossip in town. Jerry was a skilled handyman, being able to fix anything in his workshop while cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals. He proudly served in the U.S Navy.
Surviving are his sons, Steve (Jennifer) Rahn of Springfield, IL., Scott (Laurie) Rahn of St. Louis, MO., Stuart (Michelle) Rahn of Fenton, MO.: Grandchildren, Jarrod (Diana) Rahn, Justin (Jessica) Rahn, Katherine "Katie" Rahn, Jackson Rahn, Benjamin Rahn: Great-Grandchildren, Morgan Rahn, Maura Rahn, Maxwell Rahn, Jack Rahn, Mary Dooley Rahn, Beau Rahn along with other relatives and friends.
