George Pius Haas' Obituary
George Pius Haas, 86, of Millstadt, IL.,born December 20, 1927, in Piopolis, IL. , passed away Friday, August 8, 2014.
Mr. Haas retired from Spectrulite Aluminum in 1992 after 37 years of service. He was a WWII veteran. He was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Centreville, IL, for 55 years and recently of Holy Family Church in Cahokia, IL. He was an accomplished carpenter and enjoyed helping family and friends with projects.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad Haas and Theresia Haas, nee Wuebbels; his brothers Tony Haas, Joe Haas, and sisters, Ann Ott, Louise Simon, and Betty Rubenacker.
Surviving are his wife Lois Haas, nee O’Dell of Millstadt, Il., whom he married on September 9, 1950; children, Everett Lee Haas of Belleville, IL., David R. Haas (Suzanne), James Haas (Marty) of Millstadt, IL, Richard Haas (Sue) of Arnold MO., and Barbara Teng, (Marcus) of Kirkwood, MO.; his grandchildren Ryan (Emily) Haas, Beth (Jeff) Wilson; Claire, Caroline and Catherine Teng; his great grandchildren, Amelia Haas and Caden Wilson; his brother, John Haas and sister, Frances Downs; nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Strauss-Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, IL.
Funeral Mass will be on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia, IL., with Fr. Marvin Volk, officiating.
Interment will be in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery in Belleville, IL.
