Genelle N. Phillippe's Obituary
Genelle N. (Laws) Phillippe, 86 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2012, with her family by her side. She was born in Hunt, IL, the daughter of the late Albert and Flossie (Cox) Laws. In high school, Genelle was an aspiring actress and played the lead in many plays and theatricals. During WW II she taught the 4th grade in Coulterville and Wheeler, IL, after receiving her degree from Eastern Illinois University at Charleston. She sold real estate and raised her family as they followed her husband's career, wherever it took them. As a past-time, bowling was her passion, as well as being an accomplished seamstress. She was married to the late Gilbert W. Phillippe. They were married on June 1, 1947, at Willow Hill, IL. He had passed away July 21, 2009.
