Gene T. Snyder's Obituary
Gene T. Snyder, 89 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014. He was born in Commerce, OK, the son of the late Hiram and Billie (Trout) Snyder.Gene was a proud member of the Chosin Few, the 3rd Infantry Batallion (The Thirsty Third). He had retired from civil service at Defense Mapping Agency, St. Louis, MO, had served in the U.S. Marines and was a WWII, China Marines, and Korean War Veteran, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was married to Bernice (Burke) Snyder, who survives him. They were married on September 1, 1951, at Dover, NJ.
