Mr. Coats was a retired bricklayer, plasterer and had worked at American Zinc for over 20 yrs.His memberships included the Columbia Senior Citizens, and Columbia Blue Lodge #474 A.F. & A.M. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
