Gabrielle Carolina Purdy's Obituary
Gabrielle Carolina Purdy, 25 years of Springfield, IL, formerly of Waterloo, passed away on October 11, 2025, at Barnes Jewish Medical Center, St. Louis, MO. She was born November 18, 1999, to Jack E. Purdy, Jr, and Rebecca Purdy, nee Cloud.
Gabrielle was a 2018 Waterloo H.S. graduate and then attended Illinois School for the Vision Impaired and was residing at Mary Bryant Home for the Blind. She was a really kind and very sassy girl who could also be pretty adventurous. She was known to be a "Swifty" girl as well.
In addition to her parents , she is survived by her brother, Jacob Wilson, of St. Louis, MO, aunts and uncles, Christine and William Berkholz and Elizabeth and Larry Branz, cousins; Natalie, Tyler, Nathan and Kelsey, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jack E. Purdy, Sr, and Suzanne Purdy, nee, Dennis and maternal grandparents, Jack A. Cloud and Roberta J. Cloud, nee, Smith.
There will be a private memorial held at a later date at the Mary Bryant Home For the Blind, 2960 Stanton St, Springfield, IL, 62703.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the Mary Bryant Home For The Blind, 2960 Stanton St, Springfield, IL, 62703 or the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired, 658 East State Street, Jacksonville, Illinois 62650.
