Franklin D. Vickers' Obituary
Franklin D. Vickers, 83, of Millstadt, Ill., born May 30, 1933 in Dupo, Ill., passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Vickers worked as a sheet metal journeyman from Heat Rite Service in Dupo, Ill. and retired from PRI. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union 268 in Caseyville, Ill., Loyal Order of Moose in Belleville-Swansea, charter member of Millstadt Jaycees, Illinois Police Association, and Oddfellows of Dupo, Ill. He was a United States Korean War Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Arthur & Ruth, nee Hamilton, Vickers Sr, his brothers, Thomas Vickers Jr & John “Bud” Vickers and his sister, Eleanora Vickers.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie, nee Asberry, Vickers, his daughter, Debbie (Dave) Steppig, his grandchildren, Alison Steppig & Ben Steppig, his brothers, Sam Vickers & William Vickers, his sister, Rosemarie “Bootsie” (Al) Bayha and his sister-in-law, Pat Vickers. He is also survived by other relatives & friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Boys Town in Boys Town, NE.
Memorial Visitation will be on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, Ill.
Inurnment will be in Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Millstadt, Ill.
