Ms. Smith was born in Columbia, IL, daughter of the late Harry Reichert, Sr. and the late Myrtle nee Ramsey, Reichert She was the widow of the late, O. Beryl Smith who had passed away May 24, 1988. She had attended Mueller School on Steppig Rd (outside of Columbia, IL), and St. Louis Hairdressing Academy. She had also worked at Speaber's Beauty Salon, St. Louis, MO.
