Floyd G. Metz's Obituary
Floyd G. Metz, 93 years of Columbia, IL, formerly of Dupo, IL., passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Integrity Health Care in Columbia, IL. He was born December 2, 1927, in Fornfelt, MO.
Floyd was retired from the MoPac/Union Pacific railroad as a clerk. He was a life member of the American Legion post 485 in Dupo, IL., Knights of Columbus Council 4596 in Cahokia, IL., NRA and he was a WW II army veteran .
Surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Sr., and Lillian, nee Martin, Metz, his twin brother, Lloyd J. Metz Sr., his brothers, Arthur Metz , Jr. and C. Barney Metz and his sister, Shirley Hamilton.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo, IL. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Osang Idagbo, officiating., Entombment will follow in the Valhalla Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Belleville, Illinois.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Fischer House #1 Jefferson Barracks Drive, St. Louis, MO, 63125 .
