Evola Mae Niermann's Obituary
Evola M. Niermann, 93 years old of Columbia, IL, passed away at Oak Hill Nursing Home after struggling with various medical impairments including COVID-19, on November 11, 2020.
She was born in Roots, IL, the daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Barbeau) Bersche. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL and the Altar Sodality and Quilters Organization of Immaculate Conception. She was married to Earl F. Niermann on May 30, 1955 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Modoc, IL, who survives her. Evola was a beloved wife and mother. She was known for the care and planning that she put into family meals. Evola was an ancestral history buff who compiled and organized information into about 750 pages of family history books and other documents. She always put the interests of others, and especially her family, before herself.
She is also survived by her children Dennis (Cindy) Niermann, Jean Schneider, Joan (David) May, and Tom (Roo) Niermann; grandchildren Michael Schneider, Bradley Schneider, Stacie (Josh) Winsor, Stephanie (Jesse) Wells, Heather (Jeff) Haare, Angela May, Alex Niermann, Ryan Niermann, Nicole Niermann, and Gabriella Niermann; great-grandchildren Owen and McKenna Haare and Weston and Cameron Wells; sister Norma (Dan) Brauch; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Elizabeth) Niermann, and Kenneth (Barb) Niermann, along with other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Eula Bersche.
Due to COVID, all services will be private. Interment will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Columbia, IL
