Evelyn H. Wood's Obituary
Evelyn H. Wood, 96, passed away on April 4, 2015 in Columbia, Illinois, after a brief illness. A native of Alameda, California, Mrs. Wood graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1940 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. Following graduation she was employed as a social worker serving the Hoopa Native American tribe in north central California. Mrs. Wood had been a longtime resident of the Redding, California area, and was an avid hiker and reader with an abiding interest in animal welfare and wildflower photography. SurvivorsShe is survived by nieces Patricia (Mike), Christine (Eddie), grand-nephews Evan (Kristen) and David (Valerie), cousins Aline, Don (JoAnn), Susan (Tom), Jim (Margaret), and Gary (Jeri), great grand-nephew Lucas, and devoted friends. ServicesFollowing cremation, a private committal service will be held in California.
