Evelyn Elizabeth Metz's Obituary
Evelyn Elizabeth Metz, nee Waelti, 86, of Belleville, Ill., born, February 13, 1928, in Millstadt, Ill., passed away, Friday, October 3, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
Evelyn had worked for the City of Belleville, then as a clerk for the St. Clair County Clerk’s office and retired from the St. Clair County Auditor’s office.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Jesse Mae, nee Andrews, Waelti, 7 brothers and 1 sister.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 33 years, C. Barney Metz, her daughters, Paulette, nee Elmore (Ray) DeRousse, Jacqueline Elmore and Linda, nee Elmore (Richard) Wosylus, her son, Frank (Kathy) Hoffmann, her step-children, Janice (Don) Cox, Knute (Janet) Metz and Jean (Steve) Brown, her two sister, Ellen (Al) Lopez and Patricia Mae Walta, 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and she is survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Memorials in Evelyn’s memory may be made to the Humane Society.
Private family visitation and funeral services will be held.
Burial will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, Illinois.
