Mr. Steppig was born in Columbia, IL, son of the late Henry and Catherine (Krack) Steppig. He was a retired General Foreman from Granite City Steel, was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Columbia, IL, and had served in the Merchant Marine during WW II.
