Esther Anna Buch's Obituary
Esther Anna Buch, 84, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away, Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Garden Place Assistant Living in Red Bud, Illinois. She was born to the late Louis and Clara (Kelkhoff) Buch on November 28, 1938 in Red Bud. Esther never married.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews; Norma Buch, Red Bud, Carol (Don) Crabill, Red Bud, Gerald (Maggie) Buch, Steeleville, Lorna (Keith) Kinzel, Red Bud, Roger (Carol) Buch, Ellis Grove, Marian Groetecke, Red Bud, Donald (Chris) Buch, Red Bud, Darrell Buch, Red Bud, David Buch, Red Bud, Edgar (Sharon) Buch, Red Bud, Eugene (Margie) Buch, Red Bud, Donna (Richard) Wegener, Evansville, Karl (Sheila) Buch, O'Fallon, Joyce Heuman Buch, Chester, Karen and Linda Buch, Red Bud, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding her in death besides her parents are four brothers and their wives; Erwin (Irene) Buch, Edwin (Ruth) Buch, Alvin (Leona) Buch, Arlin Buch; niece, Charlene Buch; nephews, Kenneth Buch and Rich (Connie) Buch.
Esther graduated from Red Bud High School in 1956. Her first job was at International Shoe Co. in St. Louis. She also worked as a switchboard operator for Harrisonville Telephone Co from 1957-1964. She was manager at Ben Franklin in Red Bud from 1965-1985, Mohr's Plumibing and Susie's Restaurant. She also assisted her brother Arlin as a grounds keeper at Trinity Lutheran Church and school for 14 years.
Esther was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She sang in the church choir for many years. She volunteered at sing-a-long and joined chapel services on Sunday afternoon at Red Bud Care Center. She was a member of the International Lutheran Laymens League thru its Lutheran Hour Ministries Sponsorship, Randolph County Farm Bureau and she bowled on the Senior Citizens Bowling League.
The funeral services will be held, Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 11:00 am, at Trinity Lutheran Church, (Prairie) Red Bud, Illinois with Pastor Scott Hojnacki officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
The visitation will be held, Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, (Prairie) Red Bud, Illinois.
Arrangements are under the direction of Leesman Funeral Homes.
Memorial Contributions may be given to Trinity School Roof Fund.
