Erwin W. Nagel's Obituary
Erwin W Nagel, 97, of Red Bud, passed away at 9:10 PM, Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Red Bud Regional Care Facility in Red Bud.
He was born October 14, 1924, at the family home in Prairie to William and Bertha (Budde) Nagel. He married the love of his life Lois Schrieber on June 6, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Prairie. She preceded him in death on May 8, 2021.
Erwin was a lifelong and dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Prairie. He was a Trustee, sang in the choir and was on the cemetery board. He was civically active as a board member of the Randolph Farmers Co-Op and a member of the Randolph County Farm Bureau.
He was a hardworking lifelong farmer who enjoyed spending time outside hunting squirrels and rabbits and fishing at Horse Creek or the family pond. He most enjoyed quiet time at the family home and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his four children- Ralph (Millie) Nagel, Margaret Luebkemann, Charles Nagel and Marquita (Steve) Tindall all of Red Bud, 13 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter- Rosalita Nagel, sons- Ernest and Ray Nagel, son in law- Larry Luebkemann, daughter in law- Linda Nagel, brother- Erich Nagel and sisters- Edna Eggerding and Verna Voges.
The funeral service will be held at 11 :00 AM, Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Prairie. Pastor Scott Hojnacki will officiate. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Prairie. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, July 15, 2022 and from 10:00 AM until time of service, Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud.
