Emma Ruth Stamm's Obituary
Emma Ruth, nee Tabers, Stamm, 95 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at Integrity Health Care of Columbia, Columbia, IL. She was born in Farmington, KY, the daughter of the late James Daniel and Irene Pearl, nee Cobb, Tabers. She was married to the late Melvin H. Stamm. They were married on February 3, 1940, in St.Louis, MO. He had passed away December 7, 2010. She was a special woman. Special because she nurtured and brought out the best in her children and grandchildren and inspired them to do things and go places that she did not have the opportunity to go to or to accomplish. Her love was unconditional. Her quest for knowledge and understanding was unquenchable. Her unspoken presence will be felt for years to come as we taste a special dish, or hear a phrase, or remember a moment that she shared with us Emma had worked at the Internal Revenue Service, St. Louis, MO and had been a member of American Legion Post 581 Aux., Columbia, IL, and V.F.W.
