Elwood L. 'Jim' Harres, 84 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at Columbia Rehab. and Nursing Center, Columbia, IL. He was born in Columbia, IL, the son of the late Herman and Mathilda (Mitweide) Harres. Mr. Harres had been a long time employee of Stag Brewery, Belleville, IL, and was a member of IBEW, Local 309, Collinsville, IL. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post #581, Columbia, IL, as well as the Columbia Gymnastic Association. Elwood had also spent a good part of his life farming the family farm near Columbia, IL.
