Elizabeth A. "Betty" Carter's Obituary
Elizabeth A. "Betty" Carter, nee Stanhouse, 85 years of Dupo, IL., passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, O Fallon, IL. She was born August 29, 1933, in Du Quoin, IL.
Betty was a member of First Baptist Church in Dupo, IL., where she was also a Sunday School Teacher for 50 years. She was also a very well known vocalist, not only at church but around the community where she sang at various events and weddings.
Surviving are her daughter, Paula Barber; her son, Jamie (Rose) Carter; her grandchildren, Kelly Molinario, Alexandra "Ali" Carter, Robert N. Barber, Jr.& Derek Carter, her great grandchildren, Aiden Carter, Nicholas Barber, Jude Molinario, & Taylor O'harrow; her sister, Paula Harrison, her brothers, Roger Stanhouse, Jimmie Stanhouse, Gary Stanhouse & Donald Stanhouse; her Uncle, Paul Wingfield; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval Dean "Bud" Carter; her son, Robert Carter and her parents, Edgar & Zella C., nee Wingfield, Stanhouse.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL. and on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Dupo, IL.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Dupo, IL., with Rev. Rick Lay & Rev. Roger Reid, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mueller's Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
