OBITUARY
Elisabeth "Lisa" Curtis
Elisabeth "Lisa" Curtis, 87, formerly of Bethalto, IL. born March 22, 1937, in Czechoslovakia, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Lisa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was dedicated to her family. She and her late husband Richard "Sarge" Curtis met while he was serving in the U.S Army stationed in Germany. They married in 1955 while still in Germany then traveled to the U.S by ship where they began their new life together. In 1957, Lisa achieved her dream of becoming an U.S Citizen often saying that this was her proudest moment and the best thing to happen to her. She loved Bunko, shopping at Macy's and Dillard's, playing Queen of Hearts and of course getting her hair done.
Surviving are her children; Brenda (Dave) Gibbons of Bethalto, IL., Raymond (Melanie) Curtis of Dupo, IL., Dave (Stacie) Curtis of Bethalto, IL., her grandchildren; Julie (Mark) Darrow, Joe (Lisa) Gibbons, Casey (Ashley) Curtis, Elizabeth Curtis, Sydney (Sean) Costin, Alex (Chelsea) Curtis, Alexis Curtis, her great-grandchildren; Jerica, Josie, Jaylie, Blaine, Iris, Ellis, Stella, Leela and Kendall.
Along with her dear husband Richard "Sarge" Curtis, she was preceded in death by her mother Josefa Boseova, her grandsons; Corey Curtis and Matthew Curtis.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 13, 2024, 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dupo, IL., and Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dupo IL., with Father Linus Umoren officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
