Elda Louise Seders' Obituary
Elda L. Seders, 95, of Red Bud, passed away at 5:49 AM, Friday, July 15, 2022, at Cedarhurst Memory Care in Waterloo.
She was born July 26, 1926, in Campbell Hill, IL to Edwin F. and Clara S. (Rowold) Burmester. She married Earl J. Seders on February 9, 1947, in Baldwin. He preceded her in death April 27, 1975.
Elda was a hardworking woman who worked as an assembler at E.W.Wiegmann and Company in Freeburg for 40 plus years while raising 5 children.
She was a lady of strong faith who read her Bible every night. She was a lifelong Lutheran and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud and a member of the Ladies Aid. She loved holiday gatherings and her favorite movie was "A Christmas Carol". She loved to cook for family gatherings and was known for her homemade grape jelly and her roast beef and dumplings. She had a talent for craftwork and enjoyed quilting and setting quilts together as well as crocheting. She liked spending time outdoors gardening her fruits and vegetables and later canning them. She loved watching her television programs like- "Dallas", "Knots Landing", "Fantasy Island", "Bold and the Beautiful" and "Young and the Restless". She most enjoyed spending time at home with her beloved family.
Surviving are her son- Earl Wayne Seders of Prairie Du Rocher and 3 daughters- Maggie Ratz and husband Charles of Red Bud, Sandra Cogar of Baldwin and Carleen Stolte and husband Mike of Evansville. 19 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren plus one on the way, one great great great grandchild, 4 nieces and nephews and several cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter- Susan Seders and son- Ronald Lee Seders. Also preceding in death are her two sisters- Alma Burmester and Edna Laufer and husband- Earl Laufer.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, July 28, 2022 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud. Pastor Mark Nebel will officiate. Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Baldwin. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Leesman Funeral home in Red Bud.
