Elaine M Pennington's Obituary
On February 13, 2025, last rites were given to Elaine M. Pennington, age 71, of Washington, MO., as she became an angel of the Lord while surrounded by family and loved ones.
Elaine was born on December 8, 1953, in St. Louis, MO., to Frank J. and Zina "Dolly", nee Castelli, Carter whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son Jeremy Pennington.
Elaine married Michael Pennington on August 21, 1975 and they spent nearly 50 yrs by each others side.
Elaine was known for her warmth, generosity and unwavering support for her family and friends. She also had a passion for cooking Italian food which she learned from her mother and her grandmother. Her Italian cookies being one of the most desired treats by the entire family. Elaine had an extensive knowledge of her family history and enjoyed sharing that knowledge with the rest of the family. Besides family and cooking, Elaine loved to go fishing. Her love of fishing started at a young age when she would go with her dad. Her love of fishing never stopped as that was one of her and Michael's favorite things to do, spending many happy hours on the water together.
Along with her husband Michael, she is survived by her children; Richard Allen Pennington II of Dittmer, MO., Melinda Marie Pennington of Dupo, IL., four grandchildren; Kayla Marie Pennington, Saniyah Marie Davis, Siannah McKay Pennington and Joshua Allen Osterwich.
Elaine will be missed dearly by her extensive group of family and friends. In the words byVince Gill "Go Rest High on That Mountain” rest in peace dear wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend and loved one. Your sunshine will glow in our life forever.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Leesman Funeral Home, Dupo, IL. Memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
