Eileen A. Stumpf's Obituary
Eileen A. Stumpf, 93 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on February 19, 2024 in Columbia, IL. She was born July 8, 1930, in Red Bud, IL. Daughter of the late Fred and Ida , nee Faust, Hentis. She was married to the late Norman H. Stumpf, they were married in Red Bud, Il. on September 30, 1950. He passed away November 22, 2015.
Eileen had been employed in the Ladies Dept. of Dillards Dept. Store, St. Louis, MO. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Columbia, IL. She enjoyed sewing, tending to her flowers and yard, and especially spending time with family and her beloved Dorky, Cappy.
Surviving are her daughter, Kathy Fitzgerald of Swansea, IL; son, Norman T. Stumpf of Columbia, IL, daughter, Tina (Steve) Luhr of Waterloo, IL; grandchildren, Joseph Fitzgerald, Patrick (Jess) Fitzgerald, and Anne (River) Turner; great-granddaughter Jane; sister, Eunice Miller of Red Bud, IL; along with other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Paul Hentis.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 22, 2024, 3 pm - 5 pm at Leesman Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. Funeral services will follow visitation at 5 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Jonathan Bangera officiating. Interment will take place Friday, February 23, 2024 at 10:15 am in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. Funeral procession will leave Leesman Funeral Home, Columbia, Il at 9:55 am.
