Edward W. Kempen Sr.'s Obituary
Edward Walter Kempen, 78 of Waterloo, IL, passed away on March 13, 2019. He was born January 7, 1941, in St. Louis, MO. He was married to Brenda, nee Massie, Kempen, who survives him. They were married on August 26, 1988, in St. Louis, MO.
Ed was retired from the Chrysler Assembly Plant, Fenton, MO, where he was a painter. He was a member of the UAW and American Legion Post 901, Valmeyer, IL. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Ed was a most kind hearted man of Baptist Faith, who enjoyed oil painting and wood carving.
Also surviving are his children, Stephen (Tammy) Kempen, Sally Phelps, Edward Kempen, Jr., Joseph Eugene (Misty) Wallace, Todd Alan (Stephanie) Wallace and Alan (Lisa) Tinker; 11 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; seven brothers, William (Barbara) Kempen, Charles (Rachael) Kempen, Rick (Charlotte) Kempen, Albert Kempen, Ronald (Katie) Kempen, Leon (Debbie) Kempen and Robert (Sandy) Kempen; eight sisters, Sharon Risenhoover, Bernice Meadors, Dorothy Sippel, Karen Krump, Linda Demarco, Ida Mae (Dennis) Mindrup, Janet Kempen, and Rose Mary Cavanagh; numerous nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Bernice, nee Krah, Kempen and a brother in infancy.
Graveside Services will be held Monday, April 22, 2019 - 2:00 pm at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo, with Rev. William Kempen officiating.
