Earl Sylvester Shondy's Obituary
Earl was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Edna Shondy, nee Ebersohl, his daughter-in-law, Karen Shondy, his parents, Andrew and Mamie, nee McBride, Shondy, his brother, Floyd Shondy, his sisters, Gladys Shondy and Alice Rehg, his numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Earl is survived by his son, Gary Shondy of Columbia, Ill., his grandchildren, Sherri (Dale) Vogt of Paderborn, Ill., Amy (Mike) Webster of JohnÆs Creek, GA., and Chris (Sherry) Shondy of Lake Zurich, Ill., his great grandchildren, Megan & Derek Vogt, Mitchell, Matthew & Jack Webster, Kate & Gavin shondy, his sister-in-law, Amanda Ruhrmann, he is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Earl was retired from Monsanto Co. Queeny Plant in St. Louis, MO., as a project planner. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Ill., where he served on the church council and was a past president, Zion MenÆs Fellowship, he served in the U.S. Army during WW II, American Legion Post 502 in Millstadt, Ill., and served as adjutant for many branches of the Legion, Millstadt Gross Bieberau Sister Cities where he served two terms as president, Waterloo Porta-Westfalica Sister Cities, St. Clair County Historical Society and the Genealogical Society of Belleville, Ill. Memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Ill or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
