Dwayne was preceded in death by his grandfather: Walter Helfrich and grandparents: Robert & Mildred Johnston. Dwayne is survived by his wife: Rebecca Johnston, nee Seibert, his son: Dylan Johnston, his daughter: Eleanora ôEllieö Johnston, his parents: Robert ôBobö & Louan, nee Helfrich, Johnston, his father-in-law & mother-in-law: David & Sandra Seibert, his sister: Diana (Tim) Shirk, his brother: Darren Johnston, his grandmother: Eleanora Helfrich, his godfather: Raymond Joseph, his niece: Kelsey Shirk, his nephew: Evan Shirk, he is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives & friends. Dwayne has fought heart issues for the last 15 years. The last 3 months he battled through countless surgeries and complications, including his heart transplant on July 9th. If you have known Bubba, then you have shared his laugh, experienced the kindness of his character, known his loyalty, and enjoyed his child-like spirit. We are lucky to of had such a wonderful husband, son, brother, father, and friend all these years. He played the best baseball game of his life these last 3 months, but now is taking a rest in the dugout. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Mid-America Transplant Services.
