Dorothy Louisa Hoffman's Obituary
Dorothy Louisa Hoffman, 91 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, MO. She was born in Harrisonville, IL, the daughter of the late Walter and Amanda, nee Mueller, Pieper. Dorothy was the first school nurse in the Columbia Community Unit 4 Schools, a position she held for twenty years, until her retirement. She had graduated from Missouri Baptist School of Nursing and St. Joseph College in Maine. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Columbia, IL, where she had served on the consistory, three search committees and many other boards and committees of St. Paul, was president of Evening Women's Fellowship, president of PTA and a leader for Brownie and Girl Scout troops. She was married to the late Kermit Hoffman. They were married January 19, 1946, in Maeystown, IL, after he returned from 42 months of service during World War II. He passed away September 20, 1980.
