Doris Mae Johnson's Obituary
Doris Mae Johnson, nee Krick, 90, of Millstadt, IL, born May 15, 1928, in Belleville, IL passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.
Doris Mae was a lifelong resident of Millstadt. She was the former owner of D.J.’s Clothing in Millstadt and she later worked for Ben Franklin's. She was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, where she played the organ for 65 years, directed and sang in the church choir, and belonged to the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 7980 in Millstadt.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Scott, Jr.; her second husband, Clifford Johnson; her parents, Fred J. and Emma, nee Hettenhausen, Krick; her sister, Ardella Siebert; and her three brothers, Frederick "Fritz" Krick, Earl Krick, and Willard (Jess) Krick.
She is survived by her children Jackie (Pat) Bennett of Glenwood Springs, CO; Arthur (Barbara) Scott III of Millstadt, IL; Don (Cindy) Scott of Millstadt, IL; Anna Mae (Dennis) Williams of Glenwood Springs, CO; Brad (Stefania) Scott of Centennial, CO; Cindy (Clifford) Jobe, Troy, IL; Dan (Vicki) Johnson, Kingsbury, TX; Brenda (Mark) Swift, Macedonia, IL; and Kathy (Tom) Brown, McQueeny, TX. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews along with other dear relatives and friends.
The family thanks the staff at Garden Place Assisted Living in Millstadt for their friendship and their compassionate care of Doris Mae, the staff at Freeburg Care Center, and the staff at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.
Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, on Friday, June 22 from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, June 23 from 9-10 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 23, at 10 a.m., with Pastor Todd Wilken officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Evergreen Cemetery, Millstadt, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or Shriners Hospitals for Children-St. Louis.
