Donald Lee King Sr's Obituary
Donald Lee King Sr., 85, of Dupo, Ill, born October 10, 1931 in St. Louis, MO., died Friday, November 18, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. King graduated from St. Mary’s High School. He retired as a union machinist for Western Supply. He was a United States Korean Army Veteran, a member Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo, Ill., 4th degree Knights of Columbus in Cahokia, Ill., Dupo Quarterback Club and he coached a lot of youth in football and baseball.
Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents, Russell & Bertha, nee Sansucie, King.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley King, nee Mills, his children, Lynn Frey, Cindy Morales & Donald L. (Stacey) King Jr., his grandchildren, Angie (Chris) Hester, Eric (Lisa) Frey, Philip Morales, Dominic Morales, Kassandra King, Mason King & Samantha King, his great grandchildren, Ella Hester, Barrett Hester, Kelsey Frey & Joshua Frey, his brothers, Richard King & Kenneth (Phyllis) King, his sister-in-law, Ophia Mills, his brother-in-law, Jerry (Shirley) Mills. He is survived by other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Alzheimer’s Association.
There will be a Knights of Columbus Council #4596 Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, Ill., and on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo, Ill.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo, Ill., with Fr. Linus Umoren, officiating.
Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO., with full military honors.
