I taught with Don for many years!! What a great guy!! Also enjoyed when he and Nadine came to retired teachers' lunches once a month. We had our lunches in Smithton for the last year so they could attend and not drive too far! Always had a great time reminiscing about our teaching days.
One thing I clearly remember, one year student council put together a pig-kissing contest. Every teacher had a large jar with our name on it. The kids and teachers put money in the jar of the teacher they wanted to kiss the pig. Well, at the last minute, Don stuffed my jar, and I ended up kissing the pig...a real pig!! I had been stuffing his jar, but he got me in the end!!
So glad I got to spend time with Don and Nadine...wonderful memories!!
