Donald Ray Buch's Obituary
Donald Ray Buch, 59, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away at his home after an 8 year battle with cancer. He was called to his eternal home on January 8th, just hours shy of his 60th birthday.
Donny’s favorite things in the world were his 7 grand babies. So much so that he made sure each donned a unique nickname: Ellaina (Monkey), Callie (Tootsie), Everly (Sweet Pea), Ava (Squirt), Quinn (Shorty), Bennett (Junior), and Cooper (Spankey).
In addition to his love for his children, he loved his wife, Christine, of 39 years. Donny and Chris would have hit a milestone year, as their 40th wedding anniversary is February 18, 2024.
Donny enjoyed many hobbies during his short life; deer hunting, watching sports at home (NOT in person), playing slow pitch softball, tinkering outside, mowing, and raising pigmy goats. Everyone loved visiting “Donny’s goats".
Donny was loved by all who knew him, his laugh was contagious and his humor was second to none.
Donny is preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Irene Buch, his oldest brother Richard Buch, sister-in-law, Connie Buch, and brother-in-law Roderick Groetecke.
Surviving are his wife, Christine Buch, three children; Ethan (Amy) Buch, Jenna (Kensey) Andrews, and Chad (Morgan) Buch, seven grandchildren, Ellaina, Callie, Everly, Ava, Quinn, Bennett, and Cooper, four sisters and four brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, January 15, 2024, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud, IL, and Tuesday, January 16, 2024, 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud, IL. Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday January 16, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud, IL with Pastor Scott Hojnacki officiating.
