Dolores E. Ragsdale's Obituary
Dolores Earlene Ragsdale, 87 years, of O'Fallon, Illinois, passed away December 26th, 2022 in Shiloh, Illinois. She was born November 7th, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri to William and Lela (Gladys), nee Kelsay, Woods.
Dolores was a long time resident of Dupo, having lived there for 45 years. She was a long time member of Christ United Church of Christ and worked at the school as a custodian and a playground supervisor. She later moved to the Colonnade Senior Living center, which she called home for 9 years. Dolores was a wonderful mom and friend. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, traveling, and taking care of her grandchildren.
Surviving is her daughter, Janet (Richard) Boyer, son, Tod (Linda) Ragsdale, sisters; Maxine (Gerald) Ard, Linda (Jim) McFadden, Donna (Richard) Fox, and Phyllis Ragsdale, sister-in-law, Mary Woods, grandchildren; Erica Ragsdale, Nicole (Joseph) Morgan, Grayson (Karyn) Wilson, Ellie Boyer, Molly Boyer, Richard Boyer III, great-grandchildren; Abbey Morgan, Logan Morgan, Griffin Donnell-Ragsdale, Sloan Donnell-Ragsdale, along with other numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Ragsdale, her parents; William and Lela (Gladys) Woods, sister, Louise (Gene) Staggs, and brothers; George (Edna) Woods and Wayne Woods.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4th, 2023 from 9:00am - 10:00am at Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, Illinois. Services will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, January 4th, 2023 at Christ United Church of Christ, with Pastor Todd Mushaney officiating. Interment will follow at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, Illinois. Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home.
