Dolores M. Koblitz's Obituary
Dolores M. Koblitz, 97 years, of Marion, IL, formerly of Columbia, IL passed away on December 22, 2021 at The Anchor of The Voyage Senior Living Center, Marion, IL. She was born May 7, 1924, in Dupo, IL. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Nellie "Babe", nee Fanger, Marlen. She was married to the late Paul J. Koblitz. They were married December 17, 1949, in Dupo, IL. He passed away January 2, 2016.
Dolores dedicated her adult life to education, having been a teacher and registrar from 1959 to 1987. She had been employed with several area school districts, retiring from O'Fallon Township High School, O'Fallon, IL. She was a member of 1st Baptist Church, Dupo, IL.
Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl (Earl) Heberer of Marion, IL; granddaughter, Brynn Meaghan Heberer of Frisco, TX; sister, Imogene Groce of Dupo, IL; sister-in-law, Rusty Marlen of Cave Creek, AZ, nieces and nephews and friends
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Eddie G. Marlen, and Vernon S. Marlen; and sister, Joyce A. Holmes.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 30, 2021, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm, at First Baptist Church, Dupo, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday December 30, 2021 at church, with Pastor Roger Reid officiating. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
