Dennis J. Deterding's Obituary
Dennis J. Deterding, 57 years, of Red Bud, IL, passed away on September 19, 2021, at home, with his family at his side. He was born February 27, 1964, in Red Bud, IL, son of Clifford A. and Arlou, nee Liefer, Papenberg, who survive him. He was married to Marlene, nee Muench, Deterding, who survives him. They were married February 6, 1999, in Red Bud, IL.
Dennis was a lover of life and laughs, and loved to joke with everyone. He enjoyed children. He was an avid collector of toy tractors. Dennis was always there to help anyone who needed it, and was a friend to many. He was a hard working farmer who loved his calling, and looked forward to his visits with the neighbors. Dennis never knew a stranger.
Also, surviving are his two sisters, Sandy Mueth of Red Bud, IL, and Robyn James of Columbia, IL; mother-in-law, Viola Muench of Red Bud, IL, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Deterding, along with his grandparents, Herman and Isabelle Deterding, Oliver and Ida Liefer, and Arnold and Linda Papenberg.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 22, 2021, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home, Red Bud, IL, and Thursday, September 23, 2021, 10:00 am - 11:00 am, at St. John Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Red Bud, IL. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, September 23, 11:00 am, with Rev. Mark Nebel, officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Bud, IL.
