Delphia Hougland's Obituary
Delphia Hougland, 92 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on June 25, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital, Alton, IL. She was born March 31, 1932, in East Prairie, MO.
Delphia retired from Switzer's Candy. Following retirement, she began working as a real estate agent for Century 21, Columbia, IL. Delphia devoted her life to her family, loving her time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Jim Hougland of Columbia, IL; daughters, Doris Witt of Columbia, IL, Debbie (Tom) Shylanski of St. Peters, MO, and Darlene (Mel) Becherer of Columbia, IL, grandchildren, Jim (Melanie) Broshears, Kerri Moore, Dawn (Ryan) Kreder, Donnie (Tessa) Witt, Jill (Brian) McCoy; great grandchildren, Ashley Broshears, JT Broshears, Abbey Metter, Kelly Metter, Dillon (Tess) Suess, Lukas Moore, Alyvia Moore, Blake (Emily) Kreder, Kyle Kreder, Devon Witt, Allie Witt, Louise McCoy, Charlotte McCoy; and a great grandchild, Blayklee Suess; sisters, Dathol, Brenda, and Linda, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Parisea, nee Latham, Zook; grandson, Billy Lee Broshears; seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 3, 2024, 10:00 am - 11:00 am, at Leesman Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. Funeral services will follow visitation at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Mike Pleon officiating. Interment will follow in the Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia, IL.
