Delmer D. Collins' Obituary
Delmer D. Collins, 93 years of Millstadt, IL, passed away on November 26, 2020 at Reflections at Garden Place, Columbia, IL. He was born June 19, 1927, in West Plains, MO.
Delmer was a welder from General Motors, working for over 30 years, he retired in 1980. He was a member of Christian Assembly Church in Millstadt, IL. Delmer loved working in his yard. After retirement he renovated an entire house. He enjoyed woodworking and building dog houses.
Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Mary Helen Collins, nee Bazzell, his son, Dennis (Deborah) Collins, his daughter, Rhonda (Richard) Colburn, his 2 grandsons, Chadwick (Robin) Collins and Darwin (Elisha) Collins, 7 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, his brother, Ervel Collins and his sister, Mae Wilson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ephraim Edward and Birda Mae, nee Gunter, Collins and 6 siblings.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 1, 2020, from 9:30 am - 10:30 am, at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, IL. Masks are required and current Covid 19 guidelines will be followed. No more than 10 people at one time will be permitted in the building. Private family interment will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Christian Assembly Church 720 S. Illinois, Millstadt, IL, 62260 .
