Delbert Kenneth Tockstein's Obituary
Delbert Kenneth Tockstein, 78 years of Prairie Du Rocher, Ill, born January 18, 1940, in Detroit, MI., passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Medical Center, St. Louis, MO.
Delbert was a retired operator with 52 years of service having worked at Captain Coal Mine. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairie du Rocher, Ill, and the Red Bud VFW Post 6632
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred Tockstein and his mother and step-father, Catherine and Ezra Bievenue.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Fern Tockstein, nee Schmitz, his children, Doris (Mike) Hatridge, Greg (Rhonda) Tockstein, Kelly (Wayne) Heggemeier, Tracy Tockstein, Timmy (Amy) Tockstein, Robert (Julie) Tockstein, Marilyn (Dennis) Ellner, Stacy (Kim) Tockstein and Teresa Kohlenberger, 20 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, his siblings, Doris Eggemeyer and Donald (Betty) Tockstein. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at Koch-Liefer Funeral Home in Red Bud, Ill., and on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 9-10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairie du Rocher, Ill.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Jospeh Catholic Church in Prairie du Rocher, Ill., with Monsignor Dan Jurek and Monsignor Dennis Schaefer, officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Prairie du Rocher, Ill., with military honors.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the family.
