She was one of my favorite teachers. She was excellent at interpreting Shakespeare. She will be missed.
Ms. Raker was a teacher, mentor and encourager for me throughout high school. She was sharp-witted and opinionated, but also deeply caring and committed to her role within our community. We remember Ms. Raker- truly a woman ahead of her time- for her heart, her servitude and the lasting impact she had on countless young lives.
I became friends with Davie Sue 30 years ago. We shared many meals and even a trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. She was always asking about my involvement with Ready Readers, a St. Louis program that gets preschoolers excited about reading. She loved learning and encouraging others to follow their curiosity. Rest In Peace, my friend.
Davie-Sue wasn't just my second cousin she was also a very dear person to me. We had shared memories and we were there for one another. I am going to miss that and so much more...I Love you Davie-Sue and God be with you. You will live on in our hearts, always.
Not only was she my colleague for 33 years, she was my friend! Oh, she could be brash and bossy; but she could also be kind and giving. I talked to her after her open-heart surgery several times; and we always ended our conversations with "I love you." For that I am very thankful.
She was a legend at DCHS...it warms my heart to hear all the accolades for her in these memories. She truly devoted her life to her students. If you didn't get a book thrown at you or a chalkboard eraser, consider yourself lucky! Ha! Also, if you have your liver, you are very fortunate! She meant business and demanded it!!
She will be sorely missed by so many!! Love you, DSR!!

Davie Sue was a great friend. I have wonderful memories of her from our fun in Mariner Scouts and our folk siging group, the Folky Niners in high school up to present day. She will be missed. My condolences to Rod and her nieces and nephews.
