David L. Settlemoir's Obituary
David L. Settlemoir, 71 years, of Cahokia, Illinois passed away on February 9th, 2024 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born August 24th, 1952 in East St. Louis to Loren Settlemoir and Ester (Peters) Brinker.
He retired from the UAW Local 136 Chrysler Assembly Plant in Fenton, MO after 30 years and was a volunteer fire fighter for Camp Jackson Fire Department in Cahokia for about 20 years. He enjoyed monster trucks and watching car restoration shows and having drinks with his friends at Sandy Ridge. He loved spending time with his grandsons.
Surviving is his wife of nearly 50 years, Mary (Fair) Settlemoir, daughter, Christina (Frederick) Davenport, sister, Lorene (David) Lord, grandchildren; Dylan David Davenport and Maverick Gene Davenport, sister-in-law, Debra Settlemoir, his best friend, Michael Crockett, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Loren Settlemoir and Ester Brinker, brother, Calvin "Sonny" Settlemoir, and sister, Ester Kathleen Settlemoir.
Visitation will be Friday, February 16th, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, Illinois. Services will be held Saturday, February 17th, 2024 at 11:00 am at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, Illinois with an hour of visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, Illinois.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the Stray Rescue of St. Louis, 2320 Pine. St., St. Louis, MO 63103 or to the Settlemoir family.
