David R. Rodenberg's Obituary
David R. Rodenberg, 70 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at his residence after years of much suffering and struggling with many illnesses. He was born December 21, 1953, in St. Louis, MO.
David and Mary Ann were the owners of International Floor Coatings in Fenton, MO., for 40 years. David worked endlessly and struggled very hard during his entire life, working long hours and traveling many miles across the country because of the love and devotion he always had for his company, and especially for his family. David was a very giving and kindhearted man who would do anything for anyone and give to others before himself. He was an avid golfer and loved golfing with his friends whether it be sunny, raining, sleeting, or snowing. He thoroughly enjoyed his trips to Las Vegas throughout the years and cherished the vacations he and his family experienced together. He loved Elvis and would sing and listen to him for hours and hours when he was on the road traveling and working. Due to his very dry sense of humor, most people never knew if he was being serious or kidding, but most of the time he was just messing with you. David was “Very Witty & Humorous, A Great Man of Faith, Strength, Courage, Positivity, Drive, Grit, Determination, and Humility,” and whose “Very Giving Nature” and “Generosity” knew no bounds. Family was so important to him and was always “Number 1” throughout his life and we were all so blessed to have him in our lives! There simply are no words to express how deeply he will be missed by his loving family and his many dear friends.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Mary Ann Rodenberg, nee Reis, his daughter, Sarah Rodenberg Overall (Doug), his son, Michael Rodenberg, his brothers, Chris (Linda) Rodenberg and Kenny Rodenberg, his sister, Jackie (Mike) McGuire, his sisters-in-law, Mary Rodenberg and Monica Kettler, his brother-in-law, Joe Reis, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Rodenberg, his mother, Jacqueline Rodenberg, nee Davis, his brothers, Johnny Rodenberg and Daniel "Dinky" Rodenberg and his precious 23-year-old kitty “Pixie.”
Visitation will be Sunday, September 22, 2024, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL, with a memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m. with Jim Jarvis officiating, followed by a luncheon at Sacred Heart Parish Center, 130 S. 3rd Street, Dupo, IL.
