David M. Hamann's Obituary
David M. Hamann, 74 years, of Dupo, Illinois, passed away on June 24th, 2022 in Dupo, Illinois. He was born April 28th, 1948 in East St. Louis, Illinois to his parents; Melvin and Annetha (Sutter) Hamann.
David married his high school sweetheart, Linda Loless on December 16th, 1967. They were married for 54 years. He had three sons; Marc, Matthew, and Adam Hamann. He had four grandchildren; Zachary, Lexi, and Ayden Hamann, and Mackenzie (Hamann) Licklider, two great grandchildren; Atticus, Liliana and her soon-to-be baby sister.
Dave was a baseball coach and a volunteer for the Dupo Quarterback Club for over 20 years. He coached his sons, their friends, and Dave Loless, his brother-in-law. He enjoyed taking his family on trips to the Boulder Valley Resort and the Quail Club, where he was a member. Dave loved golfing with his brother, Rick, and yearly golf tournaments with Rick, Ron, and Mike Hamann. Over the years he played horseshoes, softball, bowling, chess and he loved playing tennis with his best friend, Marty Bachelier. He loved the many trips with Linda to his local casino. He had a passion for recording CD's and making music. David worked on the Mo-Pacific Railroad for 42 years. He was a proud Air Force veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He had four furry pups that he loved; Fussy, Corky, Roscoe, and Carly.
Surviving is his wife, Linda Hamann, sons; Marc, Matthew, and Adam Hamann, brothers; Ron (Denise) Hamann, Rick (Laura) Hamann, Jim (Mary) Hamann, brother-in-laws; David (Kathy) Loless and Drew Loless, granchildren; Zachary, Lexi, and Ayden Hamann, and Mackenzie, nee Hamman (Victor) Licklider, great-grand children; Atticus, Lilian, and soon-to-be baby sister, nephews; Mike (Sandy) Hamann, Jimmy (Cathy) Hamann, and Andrew Loless, nieces; Michele (Don) Wells, April (Trace) Walls, Sadie Loless, and Natalie, nee Loless, (Chris) Linck, as well as other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Melvin and Annetha Hamann, nephew, Stu Hamann, and Aunt, Clara Landgraf.
Memorial visitation will be Monday, July 11th at 11AM at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL. Inurnment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
