David L. Casey's Obituary
David L. Casey, 72 years of Saint Louis, MO, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Town and Country, MO. He was born October 2, 1950, in East St. Louis, IL.
Dave started his career in the airline industry on June 7, 1969 with Ozark Airlines, and eventually working for Trans World Airlines and finally retiring with American Airlines. Dave was a former member of the Prairie du Pont Fire Department in North Dupo, he was member of the Jaycees, he enjoyed reading, woodworking, and he especially loved traveling, London was one of his favorite places to visit.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Susan Casey, nee Widmann, his daughter, Megan (Tim) Maricic, his granddaughter, Marissa Maricic, his sister, Donnis Casey, his uncle & aunt, Virgil and Mickey Casey, his aunt, Nancy Beck, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lynn (Greg) Sprich, Pat (Jim) Seiler, Rob (Stacey) Widmann, and Cathy "Sissy" Poe, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Doris Lee, nee Manners, Casey.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL, with Jim Jarvis, officiating. Private interment will be held in the Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to American Heart Association 460 N. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63141 , American Diabetes Association 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311. Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL.
