Daniel Clifford Lyerla's Obituary
Daniel Clifford Lyerla, 89 years, of Red Bud, IL, passed away at 8:55 AM, Monday, June 8, 2020 at Regional Hospital in Red Bud, IL.
He was born November 26, 1930 in Alto Pass, IL. Cliff retired in 1991 after 30 years of service as a maintenance mechanic from Purex/Dial Corporation. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a Corporal, stationed in Okinawa, Japan during the Korean War. Member of the VFW Post 6632 in Red Bud, IL. He enjoyed traveling especially Reno, NV with his late wife, bowling and playing washer’s game. He was a stubborn man who was mechanically inclined and could fix most anything. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are his son, Terry (Debra) Lyerla of Blackwell, MO; his son, Thomas (Susan) Lyerla of Arnold, MO; his son, Kenneth (Pam) Lyerla of Fenton, MO; his step-daughter Pam (Gary) Buatte; his grandchildren, Misty (Yancey) Daniels, Amanda Barcliff, Stephanie (Ryan) Pauk, Nicole (Jaymee) Lyerla, Traci (Todd) Doutre, Billy (Stephanie) Lyerla, Jessica Lyerla, Jacob Lyerla, Joshua Lyerla, Sarah (Shane) Rhodes and Emily (Sean) Martin; many great-grandchildren & great great grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends. Survived by his sisters, Madeline (late Warren) Enloe and Lucille (Gilvey) Wilkins.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Edith (nee Holder) Lyerla; his brother Lawrence (Dorothy) Lyerla; his sister Helen (Bill) Burrow; his step-daughter Donna Farney; his granddaughter, Judy Heathman; his first wife, Lola Lyerla; his second wife, Agnes Lyerla; and dear friend Inez Stolte.
Visitation and Funeral services will be held at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud, IL on Friday, June 12, 2020. Pastor Paul Kurrelmeyer will officiate. Military honors will be performed by the Red Bud VFW Post 6632. Interment will be Tuesday, June 15, 2020 at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
