Dale Lynn Payne's Obituary
Dale Lynn Payne, 72 years of Cahokia, IL, passed away on July 3, 2020 at his home in Cahokia, IL. He was born August 15, 1947, in Sikeston, MO.
He was a retired roofer having worked with his dad, Julius Payne with Payne Roofing Company in Cahokia. Dale was a Vietnam veteran having enlisted after graduation in 1965. He trained as a medic corpsman at Great Lakes Naval Base. He was sent to Vietnam and served with the 3rd 155 MM Gun Battery with the US Marines. He served at Chu Lai and in Da Nang during the Vietnam Era.
He is survived by his two children, son John Francis Payne of Honey Grove, TX., and daughter, Amanda Dale (Charles) Jenkins of Sherman, TX., his four grandchildren, Ty Weston Snow of Bells, TX., Peyton Brooke Snow of Sherman, TX., and her son, Dale's great grandson, Keynan Lavell Williams of Sherman, TX. David Allen Payne of Honey Grove, TX., and Kiara Lynn Payne of Duchesne, UT., his three brothers, Charles Wesley Payne of East Prairie, MO., Wendell Newton Payne of St. Louis, MO., and Wilson Audie (Cheryl) Payne of Kentucky, his three sisters, Ann Tyre of Nacogdoches, TX, Betty Payne of Dupo, IL., and Elsie Barnet of South Carolina..
He was preceded in death by his dad, Julius Newton Payne, his mother Marie Lands Payne, his sister, Carol Payne Beren and his brother, Edward "Eddie" Eugene Payne.
A special thank you to his sister, Betty Payne, and his nieces and nephews, Sherry, Jason, Jodi, Chris and Tonia for the loving care and help that made the transition complete.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
