Dale David Dehne's Obituary
Dale David Dehne, 77, of Red Bud, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 4 at 5:14pm, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO., he was born in Red Bud IL., on May 30, 1947 to the late Oscar and Evelyn Dehne. He married Bonnie Lee Glenn on Dec. 23, 1966 at St. John Lutheran Church in Sparta.
Dale started working at the Singer factory right out of high school. He was drafted and sent to Vietnam for a year. After the war, he returned to Red Bud and continued working at the factory until they closed down in 1992. He also worked at Golden Dipt in Millstadt for a time. Later he was hired at Chester Mental Health, where he worked until he retired in 2008.
Dale loved fishing, building trailers and his grandkids.
Dale is survived by his children: David (Lisa) Dehne, Tracy (Jason) Poenitske, Kathy (Matt) Tilla, John (Jill) Dehne, Don (Cathleen) Dehne, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Dale was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Henry & Della (Smith) Church, paternal grandparents, Dietrich & Christina “Mueller” Dehne and sister, Shirley Wittenauer.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church in Sparta, IL. Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 11, 2025 10:00 AM at St John Lutheran Church, Sparta IL. with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL., following the service.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the St. John Lutheran Church fish fry fund or to the Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the church.
